Happy Bird-Day

Hello again,

Well the  last day of the year has arrived and there are just four hours until the huge fireworks in the city, my brother and niece have arrived for a late Christmas and were delighted to have a serve of my Mum aka Gran's Christmas pudding with ice cream and custard for dessert after dinner tonight and are looking forward to heading up to the railway bridge to watch the fireworks a 9pm (the fireworks are about the size of a beach ball and maybe a few golf balls and there's no loud bangs as a bonus, 100kms from Sydney, but can still see the skyline!) so while they wind down from a long drive (12hrs) before they head up town I'm writing my final post for 2015.

I love peeking in at everyone's cards and stopped by the From the Heart Stamps blog to check out all this months fabulous creations with the Stamp of the month challenge and came across Larissa's card which used the very same designer paper!

I also found an extra Birthday challenge and decided to use this extra cute Birdbrain image to participate, the image is called Birthday Candle and comes with a huge variety of sentiments too.

Faith (owner and designer) and Imke of the DT at From the Heart Stamps are celebrating their birthdays and so is the From the Heart Stamps Shop! They would love to see a Birthday card... I unfortunately missed their blog hop at the beginning of December :-(

Di is also celebrating over at Snippets Playground it's Di's 4th Year as Principal of the Playground!! She does a wonderful job keeping everyone  in line although I hear word of some mischief makers behind the bike shed....

I'm not sure who the recipient will be, perhaps my neighbour who celebrates her birthday in early February...

Here's my card:-

Some extra Christmas Crackers

Hello again,

I hope you all have had a very Merry Christmas, had a lovely time celebrating with your families, I had a quiet Christmas at home with my parents…but my brother announced quite late (already posted the bulk of the Christmas Care package) that he and his family would be coming, my niece really announced this as you can imagine an excited 10 year old “I'm getting two Christmases this year!’, so just as well the second box of presents hadn't been sealed with the previously seen Christmas Crackers, I have now had to make a second set for us too, everyone needs a Christmas Party Hat... hehehe I got to pick my own...

I have used the three paper remnants from the previous set of crackers, added six more tags (they are back to back) scoured my very messy desk for some coloured images, which I thankfully found all three from different digi stamp companies. Scraps of white card to die cut the tags, scraps of cardstock, I basically started cleaning up my table and used what I found.... its really really messy!!

Here are my Christmas Crackers (set 2):-

What I used:-
Paper remnants from previous set
Coloured cardstock remnants from my scrap box red, yellow and blue
Faber-Castell and Derwent Pencils
Twine in various colours from stash (including a scrounged piece from rubbish bag)
Silver ribbon from $2 shop
Cracker strips from Riot art (Australia)
Gel ink pens in co-ordinating colours
W Plus 9 Timeless tag die
Lifestyle crafts Nesting rectangle dies
Mpress nesting square die
Steel ruler, Stanley knife, craft cutting matt

Adhesives:- Double-sided tape, PVA glue

I would like to enter these crackers in:-

I'm not sure that two Christmases is good for the doctors diet, let alone having added a third!! (another family catch up which has previously happened in August!)

Wishing you and yours a Happy, safe, peaceful and Healthy New Year

Many thanks for looking in...
Happy New Year...

Cheers Gift card

Hello again,

Well I thought I had finished my cards off for this Christmas but discovered that I had only made one gift or in this case cash holder for my neighbours two teenage sons, I think I was a little distracted by one's behaviour and wondered if he would still living here for Christmas this year...

So having written on the card for his brother I dug around in my papers to find a larger paper set as I folded and cut this card out myself (bonus that I got to use another envelope I bought in a slightly odd size). I stuck to a simple Santa image so I could play with the ladies over at both 12 Months of Christmas Challenge (this months optional theme is Santa Claus is Coming to town) and Christmas at Sweet Stampin' I added a single word sentiment, he is a teenager after all, they are the masters of single word sentences!!

Fairy Merry Christmas

Hello again,

Well Christmas is just one week away and I'm finishing off my cards, I got busy colouring in this one and then realised that I really didn't need any more Christmas cards, so this became the tag on my sister-in-law's gift, but is large enough to cover a card front (well it was going to be card). Which was posted to them in time for Christmas only to have my niece announce two days later that she was getting two Christmases this year one at the beach and one with us a week later!! My brother plans to pack our posted gifts in the car and drive them back (a mere 13+ hour drive) he will arrive before my niece.

As this is a Tiddly ink image I have decided to link it up over there, even though I used completely different colours than, traditional reds, greens and golds requested. Please feel free to delete if unacceptable...

Let's get wrapping

Hello again,

Well we are up to day six of Bugaboo's Christmas Chaos a week of fun and exciting challenges, today's challenge is:-

SHOW US YOUR WRAP

Whip up some sort of holiday gift wrap - could be a gift tag, bag or treat tin...

Show us your wrap!

I have made three bon-bons also called Christmas Crackers to send to my brother and his family, with small gifts to suit and the cracker strip, I found out today that mail restrictions will require them to go by road transport only, due to the cracker strips being an explosive.

I have used non-Christmas papers as the wrap, and three different digi stamp images all from different companies too, Tiddly Inks-Mavis, From the Heart Stamps- Angel Joy and Bugaboo Deacon Drummer

Here are my Bon-Bons:-

I couldn't make the bon-bons stay put and get their tags in too, the third kept rolling away!

What I used:-
Generic paper
white card stock
white card for inner
Pink, purple and red card stock-generic
Digi Stamps as listed above
Derwent & Faber-Castell Pencils
Wplus9 Tag die
Wplus9 Scallop border die

Elves

Hello again,

Well I'm back again with another card for the current Christmas Chaos Challenge a week full of fun Challenges with the lovely team over at Bugaboo.

Today's challenge we had to pick a treat and make our card based on that treat, I chose 'Gingerbread Cookie Biscuit' (sorry we don't eat cookies in Australia, although some people are likely to toss them, but that's another story).

Gingerbread Cookies - Use 2 Stripes, 3 Brads or Bling, 4 Layers
Sugar Cookies with Sprinkles - Make your card a shape other than Square or Rectangle, 3 pieces of Bling & Ribbon
Homemade Holiday Chocolates - Use ONLY cardstock, no designer papers, Embossing & 2 Layers
Spiked Egg Nog - Use a Border Punch, Glitter & Polka Dots
Candy Canes – Stripes & BLING
Fruit Cake – Make it Funny & use ONLY scraps to create your card

My card recipe included 2 Stripes, 3 Brads or Bling and four layers.

I went a little overboard with my bling, never mind... my brother won't notice...
