Away in a Manger

Hello again…

Well we are almost finished this years month long holiday card challenge over at Beccy's Place. Today Beccy's challenge is to create a card based on a Christmas Carol, so here goes...

This one  has to be one of my simplest cards to date, I have used a digi stamp I won from QKR Stampede and combined it with one of Paulette from TLC Creations digital word art images, coloured in the image, added washi (can you see it?) ribbon and a bow finishing off with a die cut Star of Wonder.

Here's my card:-

What I used:-
10.5cm x 14.9cm white card blank
Navy and white card
Scrap of gold glitter paper
Digital image from QKR
Digital sentiment from TLC Cretions
Faber-Castell and Derwent Pencils
Memory Box die ‘Star of Wonder’
Lifestyle Crafts nesting rectangles
Blue glitter washi tape

Blue ribbon from my cousin’s wedding
Adhesives:- Double-sided tape, PVA and glue dots

Je suis Paris Joyeux Noel

Hello again...

I have been thinking about joining in a few of the month long card challenges before they close at the end of the month so this card is a combination of many...

Over at the Sweet Stampin' Christmas Challenge they would like to see stars

Beccy's Place is celebrating a whole month of Christmas card making with more inspiration each day, mine comes from day 15 Christmas trees

Christmas Cards all year Round would also like to see Christmas trees

I had several trips back and forth considering this month's Case-ing Christmas Challenge #31 to decide just what I would take from this month’s case card made by Donna, I decided to take my inspiration from Donna’s three trees and use a similar colour scheme, in light of what recently happened in Paris I  used the French flag for the colour layout and using a single word sentiment as a reminder of what the season is about...

Over at the Glory of Christmas Challenge the ladies would like to see a Clean and Simple card or the other option is anything goes, I think my card is fairly clean and simple...

Hazel and her team are always glad to see any Christmas make at each months Christmas Challenge Extra...

Across the ditch (well in Australia) the Creative Craft Cottage ladies would like us to make a Christmas Creation

Finally late last night the lovely ladies over at Jingle Belles challenged us to use up or Holiday Leftovers, I'm always up for using my large piles of scrap so...

Okay so I just remembered that the team over at Pile It On's Challenge is Any Holiday or Celebration, I think I've piled lots of challenges on to one card ;-)

Here’s my card:-

As I left quite a bit of space below the trees, I'm wishing that I had placed them a little lower... never mind

What I used:-

  • White 10.4cm x 14.8cm card blank
  • Paper scraps from two different paper pads (Bo Bunny ‘Elf Magic’ & Doodlebug Designs ‘Santa Express’)
  • Silver & black glitter card from scraps
  • Memory Box Die Sketchbook Peace
  • Tree die from Sizzix and Hero Arts pack Reindeer and Trees
  • Adhesives:- Double sided tape, Glue dots, Xyron Create-a-sticker

Gift Bag

Hello again,

Well this month there are quite a few of the Christmas challenges encouraging us to spread some glittery cheer around, does it count when I drop some glitter on the Physio’s carpet, after a two and a half hour train trip to get there? I think it must have come out of my shoe ;-))

I used three separate images from Tiddly Inks Digi store Winter Wryn, puppy love and a gift pile from Williow the Christmas Fairy and merged them together to create a Christmas scene, as this was planned to be for a gift bag the images are quite a bit larger than usual and I was able to add my sentiment into a text box directly under the images.

I have had some trouble getting the design papers to stick to the yellow glitter card and I may have to adjust the bag and add more brads to help hold the whole thing together, PVA just doesn't seem to hold well enough, maybe the second coat will have helped.

Here’s a close up of the gift bag:-

and the whole gift bag, I picked up 10 gift bags in various colours from Riot art while they were having a 50% off Sale, I also picked up some plain white and kraft bags at the same time!!

What I used:-
Tiddly Ink Digi stamps gifts, puppy love and Winter Wryn
Faber-Castell & Derwent Pencils
White card
Gift bag (Riot Art for those in Australia)
Ribbon from Stash
Yellow glittered cardstock
8mm coloured brads
Glittered large Self-adhesive rhinestones
Doodlebug Design bracket (generic Christmas pack)

Gold Elf

Hello again...

Well the weather has turned again from a 28C heat wave in October to a 12C day in November, we have been misted in today, the only thing that changes is how far we can see in front of us...

On to my card I have several paper pads which have come with various card-making magazines over the last couple of Christmases and its time to use them up.

I saw the digi image online several years ago and had to get it, it is a little elf playing with a couple of baubles, by Birdie Brown, as Torico has closed her store the little elf is no longer available. My elf has lingered in the computer for a while and I recently printed three, which are all coloured differently. I will make the other cards over the next few days they are just waiting in the wings.
